Miss Western Highlands Province wins Miss Bird of Paradise PNG Pageant for 2025-2026

The 19-year-old Iampela Popena, contestant number five, is a 2nd year Economics Student studying at the University of Papua New Guinea.

She represented the land of “sweet pineapple, strawberries and broccolis” the food basket of the country, Western Highlands Province.

Miss Popena won a cash price of K20,000, a return ticket to attend the Queen Esther Purim Conference in Israel, entry into the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant, entry to other international Pageants and travel around PNG.

Miss WHP now crowned Miss Bird of Paradise PNG, won amongst the eight contestants from Sandaun, East Sepik,Gulf, Morobe, Enga and East New Britain.

WHP will now be the host Province for the next Miss Bird of Paradise Pageant next year 2026.
