The raid conducted by the Hagen based MS5 unit and Henganofi police is the latest in a series of since the mobile unit was deployed in Kainantu to assist in removing the Barola blockage.
Thirty five police personnel were involved in the raid.
Four days ago, another smaller marijuana garden was raided. Police confiscated 596 mature plants.
The estimated street value of the plants is about a hundred thousand kina.
This latest raid has netted more than 900 individual plants.
While this may seem like a huge number, it is just a tiny part of the whole marijuana problem in the Eastern Highlands province.
Over the years, reports have revealed that marijuana has been grown in villages, as a convenient cash crop; with growers stating that the marijuana plant requires very little to no tending, grows all-year round and is quicker to grow.
Law enforcers are adamant on destroying marijuana gardens and uprooting the many social problems associated with drug abuse.
