Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, has welcomed the district court’s decision to set aside a Warrant of Arrest obtained by a police man in connection with ongoing investigations in the Paul Paraka Lawyers payments.
The court found the warrants defective, setting them aside.
Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, says the investigation into the Paul Paraka Lawyers payments was initiated by him, and must continue following due process.
He affirmed the investigation is at an advanced stage by the Task Force Sweep, a legally constituted body with jurisdiction over the matter.
Mr O’Neill says political expediency will not be allowed to overtake the proper lawful processes.
He warns those behind the saga will be dealt with by the full force of the law.
Meanwhile Police Commissioner, Tom Kulunga, has directed no investigation or any arrest be carried out by any other section of the police force other than those attached to Task Force Sweep.
