RPNGC Names Two New Police Patrol Vessels

The Royal PNG Constabulary officially named their two new Police Patrol Vessels (PPV) at a ceremony yesterday at the Yacht Club.

Both vessels have been named by Commissioner Gari Baki and dedicated to current serving Assistant Commissioners David Manning and Tony Duwang.

The new vessels will provide the RPNGC with a level of response not previously possible with the existing fleet.

The vessels are fitted with the latest Garmin navigational systems, safety and towing equipment including fire pumps, and first aid supplies.

Australian Federal Police Commissioner, Andrew Colvin said that this partnership will not stop in November after APEC, but will continue for many more years.

RPNGC Assistant Commissioners Manning and Duwang were present at the ceremony with their families.

The PPV Manning will be berthed alongside the clubhouse, however, PPV Duwang is currently being shipped from Brisbane and expected to arrive in PNG before the end of this month.
