TNT Vakana defeated Rainbow, 3-1 in round 2 ofthe Port Moresby Soccer Competition, played atthe Sir John Guise Stadium.
Rainbow trlied in vain to hold off Vakana, but managed to findthe back ofthe net only once.
Beth teams bravedthe scorching Port Moresby heat to exchange ball possession on field. It was Vakana in blue who displayed classy football, while Rainbow in red worked hard in defense.
Vakana setthe pace to dominatethe first half ofthe match, but Rainbow found a gap intheir defense buttheir efforts to score were dismissed by Vanaka’s strong backs.
Rainbow managed only once to findthe back ofthe net. Vanaka bounced back twice and dominatedthe match 2-1 at half time.
It was an all Vanaka affair inthe second half. The boys in blue eyedthe ball, making sure all loose balls were put to good use. Rainbow sensedthe pressure and fought back, but to no avail.
Vanaka werethe better side with a goal just before half time to lead to fulltime.
