A week to go before polling, National Capital District Governor, Powes Parkop and Moresby South Sitting MP, Justin Tkatchenko’s election campaigns are using more strategies during rallies.
Parkop and Moresby South MP, Justin Tkatchenko traveled on a vehicle resembling a Motuan canoe or Lakatoi into the heart of Wanigela village to stage their campaigns there.
They were surrounded by a sea of supporters who escorted them onto the stage.
Tkatchenko said he will continue to work with Governor Parkop to deliver health and education services in the Moresby South electorate.
So far 8,000 people have benefited from the TVET programs initiated by Governor Parkop and Minister Tkatchenko.
Koki and Wanigela have seen a major facelift with over 96 classrooms for the St Francis and Koki Primary schools, vegetable and fish Markets, overhead bridge and bus stop upgrading.
And plans for the Koki Diabetic Center to become a health center to deal with maternity cases.
However, he assured the Wanigela people that they will not be evicted. Rather, their lands will be protected through land titles.
Governor Parkop urged supporters to vote leaders according to their performance.
