Saint Mary’s Turingi Primary School in East Sepik Province has applauded local MP, Richard Maru, for his leadership that has seen major changes in the community livelihood.
Head Teacher, Dominic Sariwas speaking to EMTV News at Turingi this week, said that the school has been self-dependent, when it comes to infrastructure development.
“Our board of management with the parents and citizens, have been working very hard in the past years, to ensure that our school continues its operations.
“People believed in change and therefore have to take ownership of education.”
Mr Sariwa however, said for the first time under Maru’s leadership, the school has been given a new double classroom.
“Since Mr Maru took office, many changes have been seen happening in the Yangoru-Saussia Electorate from education, health and transport infrastructure.
“People have experienced the change and are wanting to be part of this change,” he said.
Mr Sariwa thanked the Yangoru-Saussia District under Maru’s leadership for investing in education that will drive change.
The new double classroom will be opened later during the year.
