Tabar Takes Over from Duban as New Transport Minister

For the fourth time since 2012, the Ministry for Transport and Infrastructure officially welcomed Minister Malakai Tabar for taking over from Minister Nixon Duban.

Minister Tabar leaves his former ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, but is not new to the Transport Ministry. Minister Tabar occupied the ministry in 2014.

He says he looks forward to working with the Department again.

The new Minister for Transport says he isn’t a new face to the ministry and is looking forward to working with the department. He also thanked Minister Duban for his work as the minister.

Leaving, Minister Nixon Duban says he is pleased with what he has achieved in a short period of time.

He says he has realised a lot of policy angles that need to be in place and trusts the Secretary will continue the good work.

Minister Tabar says although they have ten more months before the next elections, he hopes to contribute what he can to the Department.
