The Solomon Island Warriors arrived ahead of the 2015 FORU Cup set to kick-off in Port Moresby, this weekend.

Retaining members of their team line-up from 2013, the Warriors have also added the experience of players having had a taste of the recent Pacific Games.

The team will be banking on key elements learnt at the July games to better their appearance.

Captain Fredson Saoki, said, the team headed into camp a week ago is comprised of a combination of new and old players. Saoki said the team is looking forward to the tournament.

He added that “for everyone, PNG will be the hot favourites but we don’t want to judge Tahiti and American Samoa at this stage. They are also a good side so we’ll take each game as it comes”.

The Warriors will also be utilising their forward pack as their main strategy, although they are expecting the Pukpuks as favourites for this year’s cup, they are also considering debutants, American Samoa to be a threat.
