With so much hype and excitement around the Pacific Games, the 6th PNG Games to be held in Lae in November, should act as a great launching pad for all athletes in the lead up to the Pacific Games next year.
With the support of the Government, the PNG Games has received a total of K16.5 million to ensure venues and infrastructure, are all catered for prior to commencement.
The PNG Games in Lae this year are expected to be bigger and better. This year’s games are set to welcome 29 tentative sports, which are yet to be confirmed by July.
AFL, Kickboxing and Table Tennis are a few of the 29 which will be competing.

In charge of running the programs of compliance through all regions of Papua New Guinea is Thomas Kahai, Major Events Co-ordinator.
With this initiative, Mr. Kahai and Mr. Tsiamalili will be working in collaboration with the Host Organizing Committee in Lae, to bring forward dialogue and spread awareness of the games.
The PNG Games this year will provide an excellent avenue to promote our national sportsmen and women.
A total of 22 venues have been scoped by the Host Organizing Committee, Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium being the core venue for the games, ensuring track, indoor, pool and numerous multipurpose courts.
With the Government’s support of K9 million and K7.5 million from the NEC, the games are set to have a fantastic run this year.
