Lawyer Ralph Saulep, has lashed out on the reinstatement of Dr Albert Schram as permanent Vice Chancellor by the newly appointed university council.
Mr Saulep says, the move is in contempt of court and is null and void. He maintains there is still doubt over Albert Schram’s qualifications.
Mr Saulep said, the appointments done by Higher Education Minister, Delilah Gore, and the convening of the meeting on the 28th of March in Lae, is in direct breach of orders from the National Court.
He added that Dr Albert Schram‘s qualification to hold office was the centre of investigation by the Sevua team. However Attorney General and Justice Minister Kua, confirmed that the new council is legitimate, as bound by the resolutions that have been passed in the Sevua report.
Meanwhile, students at Unitech are set to welcome back Dr. Schram from Australia this week, which will see the resumption of classes.
Dr. Schram is in Cairns, Australia, and is preparing to travel to PNG.
