Round 15 of the NRL saw players backing up for Origin, the last placed Manly Sea Eagles had a much needed victory over Wests Tigers 30 points to 20.
And in one of the exciting matches of the round, the Brisbane Broncos held off a determined Melbourne Storm outfit to walk away with a narrow win.
In wet conditions, the Sea Eagles came out triumphant against the Tigers. The halves combination for the Sea Eagles proved to be the difference giving them the victory 30 points to 20.
The North Queenslanders have made it 11 straight wins after just getting over the Canberra Raiders, 21 points to 20.
Thurston had a hand in all three Cowboys tries. He also kicked two conversions, two penalty goals and the winning field goal.
The New Zealand Warriors came from behind to take victory from the Titans. With a solid second half performance they walked away with the win 36 points to 14.
Josh Reynolds led the Bulldogs to victory over the Panthers in an impressive and entertaining match which went all the way to the final hooter with the final score 24 – 12.
The Sharks scrapped home by two points against the Newcastle Knights. Ben Barber inspired a 3 try comeback in the sharks 30 – 28 win.
The Broncos held off the Storm in their 14- 12 victory. Brisbane’s defence proved to be the winner to snap an eight game losing streak.
