Quick action by fire service prevents further damage to properties

By Meriba Tulo – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Quick action by the PNG Fires service has been commended for preventing what would have been a major fire at the Gordon’s Industrial area yesterday. Monday, January 11.

A storage facility, belonging to Fairdeal Liquors, caught fire at around midday.

Given the location of this area, and the large number of businesses, Police and security personnel were first on the scene to prevent opportunists from taking advantage of the situation.

A team from the Boroko Fire Station arrived shortly after, and began their work.

Boroko Station Commander, John Ape was pleased with the efforts of his officers in containing the fire and preventing further damage to this property, and neighboring properties as well.
