PNG Women in Agriculture (PNGWiA) President, Maria Linibi has expressed her gratitude for the inclusion of Women in Agriculture and Fisheries in APEC after 25 years.
Mrs Linibi showed her appreciation during the Policy Dialogue on Women in Agriculture and Fisheries meeting on Sunday (05 August 2018) and says she feels blessed and enriched.
Mrs Linibi, who is an advocate for Women in Agriculture thanked the Government of PNG through APEC in recognising that women could have an input in the development of PNG.
“We’ve been pushing to get the Government to recognise women in agriculture and fisheries because we have been in the non-government organisation that has been pursuing the sector worldwide so that the world knows that there’s an agricultural sector in PNG and women are working, so we try to do that,” says Linibi.
Mrs Linibi also urged the 10 000 plus women in her organisation to appreciate the Government for recognising women’s involvement in the agriculture and fisheries sector.
