A pioneer ofthe Pentecostal moverment Reverend Joseph Yans Lepatu inthe country has dlied at age 80.
Rev. Lepatu hails from Laiagam inthe Enga Province.
He helped kick startthe moverment all over Papua New Guineainthe 1960s.
The body ofthe late Reverend was brought down to Port Moresby for proper respect to be paid to him.
The funeral service was held atthe Hohola Christian Apostolic fellowship church, on Saturday. It was attended by Christian lLeadersfrom aroundthe country, his missionary supporters, family andthe many people he impacted.
His elder son and also a man of God, Robert Yans Lepatu travelled with his wife from Australia to appreciate and farewellthe great man of God.
Robert expressed admiration at his fther’s simple and selfless life.
The late Reverend also leaves behind a legacy of restoring lives of helpless children inthe community.
He startedthe non for profin PNG Christian community Services in 2006.
Besed in Gerehu it currently houses ten disadvantaged and vulnerable children, and is run by Christian volunteers.
