PNG Soccer Champions, Hekari will face Fiji Be inthe first game ofthe 2013 OFC Champions next month.
The Tournament will see eight ofthe Pacific’s best teams, from seven OFC member association countries.
The first game ofthe 2013 OFC Champions league will sePNG Hekari take onthe Be Fiji in Port Moresby.
PNG’soccer champs will battle it out withthe ther 6 pacific Island teams for the right to be crowned kings of Oceania.
The tournament previously known asthe O- league has undertaken a new format and is now known asthe OFC Champions League.
As in recent seasons,the eight teams will be split into two groups.
AlongsidPNG Hekari in Group A are, Be Fiji, Solomon Warriors and Vanuatu Amicale while competing in Group Be Mont Dore from New Caledonia, Dragon from Tahiti and two teams from New Zealand,the Auckland City and Waitakere United .
The matches will be played on a home and away basis.
Unlike in previous years, semi- final will featurethe two highest teams in each group withthe winner for Group A taking onthe runner up of Group Bewhile winner of Group Betakes onthe runner up of Group A.
Meantimethe Hekari United involvement inthe Telikom National Soccer League Tournament is a way forward in preparation for their first game with Fiji ontheir home ground.
