PAC Inquiry Uncovers Poor Service Delivery

Disturbing evidence at the Public accounts committee hearing of what appeared unqualified, inexperienced logistics companies given contracts for medicine distribution.

At least one company was found to have provided false information during the tender process.

The company which had no pharmaceutical delivery experience was awarded 7 million kina contract over Post PNG who also bid for the job.

The PAC found that the Chinese owned company did not have an electronic tracking system and the current manager was not yet employed when the bid was submitted.

EMTV also presented evidence, Lae Bureau Chief Scott Waide told the inquiry that medicines were still not reaching people in rural areas and that they systems were failing.
