In this episode:
We feature the eye health care in PNG. One health element that has not been seen as a priority for years is the eye health sector, thus the World Sight Day that occurs annually in October is a day of awareness on eye health care.
Papua New Guinea lacks eye care specialists and we are not even close in meeting the World Health Organisation’s eye doctor to patient ratio which is 1 doctor is to one hundred thousand patients.
We also highlight the USAID School Screening Project .which is being implemented by PNG Eye Care and other stakeholders. It is aimed at children below the age of 16.
