The National Soccer League Round 3 Competition placed contenders Gigira Laitepo Morobe against Besta FC, as Hekari aimed for three out of three, while the Eastern stars looked to improve from last week.
Both the Eastern Stars and Admiralty were looking to put their respective mid-week disappointments behind them, as round three got underway.
Admiralty was a different team from the one that lost 6-0 to Hekari, and time and again, Eastern stars were placed under pressure, calling all players back to defend, leaving striker Richard Sios alone up front.
Star’s Basil Jofari was the stand out in the attack for the losing team, linking up well from midfield, and took what could have been a prospect for goal of the season.
Admiralty won the game 3- 0.
Oro FC were out to test the league champions in what would eventually prove to be a physical encounter at Hekari’s new home ground, the IPA Oval, in Port Moresby.
Oro were heading into the match in good form with the return of Captain Gari Moka, an additional boost, as he used his strong presence up front.
Hekari however, have done so far in the seasons dominated the possession.
Crisp passing by Hekari, allowed new recruit Tutizama Tanito to score inside the box, sending the ball past keeper Richard Lapan.
An unfortunate handball inside the 18, saw Nigel Dabinyaba slot Hekari’s third, Keeper Lapan dived the right way, but only felt the ball slide past his fingertips.
It was Oro, who would begin to threaten, but the damage had already been done for Oro, and Hekari recorded their third straight victory.
