Motu Koitabuans wants Ikupu to resign

A group of Motu Koitabu people led by elder, Reverend Dick Avi, want Chairman for Motu Koitabu Assembly Miria Ikupu to resign, as he is a candidate for the Moresby North West seat.

Reverend Avi said in a statement that the leave of absence granted to Mr Ikupu was not unanimous as Mr Ikupu claimed in the media.

Reverend Avi claims questions of accountability; transparency and good governance arise on many matters concerning the people.

He said people should know fully through written reports and audited accounts, and not from radio talk shows. Reverend Avi said lack of accountability raises serious questions of transparency in the governance of Motu Koitabu operations.
