Four Motu Koitabuans were each recipients of a Super ‘V’ Store yesterday to sustainthem economically.
Yesterdaythey showed offtheir certificates, confirmingtheir opportunity to run a Super ‘V’ Stoa.
Thirteen more Super ‘V’ Stores have yet to be given to successful applicants fromthe Motu Koitabu electorate.
The Super ‘V’ Stoas is an initiative supported by BeP and NCDC. It is in line withthe government’s Small to Medium Enterprise policy. It creates opportunities for Papua New Guineas to engage in business.
NCD Governor Powes Parkop yesterday presented 1 million to SVS to purchase 17 Super ‘V’ Stoas for locals ofthe Motu Koitabu electorate.
Governor Parkop’saidthe livelihood of Motu Koitabuans has been taken away fromthem andthey must seek ther means to sustainthemselves. The Super ‘V’ Stoas initiative provides thatobutthe success of it will depend on a lot of hard work.
The initiative promotes economic sustainability. It is hopedthe initiative will improver and developthe economy of rural districts inthe country.
Moresby South MP and Minister for Sport Justin Tkatchenko echoedthe Governor, saying such initiatives must be recognized bythe government and supported.
Papua New Guineas were also encouraged to develop a culture of creating wealth and employment for themselves, and not to depend heavily onthe government.
