Mioks Hampered Tigers Winning Spree

Saturday’s overcast weather gave way to a rainy Sunday. The host team, Lae snax tigers, in a consistent wining streak in the Digicel Cup, had higher hopes of thrashing their guest to add another score to their winning spree in the round 7 of the competition.

But that wasn’t the case yesterday.

Despite the wet weather, both teams have put up a strong challenge in what would have turned out to be a Tiger’s win.

A strong defense put up by Mioks front liners ended an 8 all draw. The Tigers managed to secure an 8-point lead in the first half. But the Mioks defense line kept the Tigers on hold.

The two unconverted tries from the Mioks that came minutes into the second half leveled the score at full time.

The Mioks head coach, Timothy Lepa says, the tireless training aimed at putting a stop to the Tigers winning spree turned out to be a successful one.

The Mioks will be meeting the Agmark Rabaul Gurias next weekend in Kokopo while the Snax tigers will be on bye.
