Mining Companies Not Welcomed in Oro

The second legally declared 360,000 hectares of conservation area in Managalas in the Afore District of Oro province sits on rich mineral resources.

Large Scale Industries have been given a stern warning by conservationists to not venture into these areas.

What the locals from this area want is sustainable development activities so that they can conserve their land for their future generations.

It was reiterated by concerned partners who have worked in close collaboration with the Managalas people that, large scale productions do not really benefit the people but only serves the mere purpose of generating profit.
