An expatriate believed to be the Manager of an engineering unit of the Travel Air airlines, has been found dead in his room at the Kalibobo Village Resort.
The resort’s workers said the man sharing the suit with the victim alerted the security guards yesterday that the victim had been locked away since Saturday, so the guards broke into his room and found him dead.
The guards confirmed that he was found lying face-down on the floor against the wall on a pool of blood, with both his legs still on the bed.
Criminal Investigations Division Officers are currently investigating the incident, which will include an interview with the man who was sharing the house with the victim, along the resort’s workers and security guards who were on duty on the weekend.
The guards and the resort workers have been interviewed by police, whilst the man sharing the house with the expat is yet to be interviewed.
From what police have gathered so far, the case seemed suicidal, but no ruling will be made on that note until a full post mortem has been carried out on the cause of the victim’s death.
The wife of the deceased has been contacted, and according to reports, she has requested the body to be flown to Port Moresby for the Post Mortem.
Meanwhile all the victim’s possessions will remain at the resort under police custody, until further notice from the victim’s wife.
The victim’s body is currently at the Modilon General Hospital Morgue, awaiting further instructions from the wife.
