The Minister for National Planning and Monitoring Charles Abel announced a new Department Head on Wedneasday.
Juliana Kubak who wasthe deputy secretary for the department will act while Dr. Peter Kora is under suspension over allegations of mismanagement.
Minister Abel met with all staff ofthe department and announcedthe temporary change in lLeadersip.
He said as Minister responsible he had to respond tothe complaints given to his office and that it was not based on any ther reasons.
Following Dr Kora’s suspension from office,the people of Chimbu made a public petition made tothe National Executive Council for Dr Kora’s reinstating.
Minister Abel said this was a misunderstanding because Dr Kora is just going through a process. He said it will take about three months for proper investigations intothe allegations made against Dr Kora.
Ms Kubak who has been working inthe department for more than twenty years acceptedthe appointment with confidence. She challengedthe staff to work to restorethe tarnished image ofthe department and to perform its required duties with honesty.
