Rapper Chris Kelly, one half ofthe rapping duo Kris Kross has dlied.
The 34 year old was found unresponsive in his Atlanta home in Georgia. He was later pronounced dead atthe Atlanta Medical Center at 5:30pm local time, on May 1st 2013.
Withtheir Signature style, baggy jeans and jerseys worn backwards,the boys soon hit number one withtheir single “Jump” fromtheir “Totally Krossed Out” Album.
The second part ofthe Kris Kross rap team, Chris Smith, issued a statementoover news of his bandmate to E! Online saying, “Chris Kelly was my Best Friend… He was like a brther. I lover him and will miss him dearly.
“Our friendhip began as little boys in first grade. We grew up togther. It was a blessing to achievethe success, travelthe world and entertain Kris Kross fans all aroundthe world with my best friend” he continued. “It is what we wanted to do and what brought us happiness. I will always cherishthe memories ofthe C-Connection.”
Neighbors describe Kelly as a low-key type of person who was very talented, courteous, and friendy.
It is believed that his death may have beenthe result of a drug overdose- a mixture of Heroin and Cocaine. A toxicology reportowhich will determinethe cause of death, is expected to be released in 3-4 weeks time.
