Kerenga Kua Joins Opposition

By Stanley Ove Jr – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Government backbencher and former Attorney General, Kerenga Kua, has joined forces with the opposition.

The MP said this afternoon that he has lost his belief in the current Government and that the Prime Minister is not addressing issues with wisdom.

“I believe that this Government has not been able to bring wisdom, make proper judgmental calls in critical instances where wisdom is required,” Kua said.

Mr Kua described the current situation in PNG as a pressure cooker reaching boiling point with the government holding down the lid.

“The Government is building up pressure in the system; they are building up pressure in the community, and in the country. And when you do that for long, it explodes,” Kua said.

Meanwhile the Opposition has reappointed Don Polye as their leader.

Mr Polye stood down on May 3, after a court order regarding the Kandep Open seat.

“We serve the interest of the 10 million people of the country. We like to see a future that is sustained economically for the lives of our children,” Polye said.
