Just Play extends to Morata Community

The Just Play program has extended its reach tothe Morata community followingthe completion ofthe first workshop of 2013.

Children fromthe Morata suburb inthe city turned up in numbers to be part ofthe Just Play activities and games atthe Sir John Guise Stadium.

OFC is committed to growing football at community and school level throughoutthe Pacific and as a result developed a unique grassroots programme ‘Just Play' promoting physical activity for primary-aged children while encouraging community involvement and healthy living.

Children fromthe Morata suburb were part ofthe Just Play activities and games conducted bythe community representative and supervised bythe Just Play Development Officer.

Just play allows children to be part of football drills and side games.

Just Play is now targeting children at community level to be part ofthe fun activities through learning football skills. Importantly, learn to deal effectively with social issues affectingthem on a daily basis.

According to project manager, Taku Niebo,the programme is expected to be completed inthe next 2-3 weeks beforethe community concept is evaluated for futher expansion.
