The PNG LNG Kumuls’ newest addition, Zev John, says he’s excited to be selected into the team.

The 21 year old from Mg Hagen was surprised when told about his selection, and he is now preparing to debut this weekend in Lae, when the Kumuls take on the England Knights in their first match of the international series.

Zev Johns moved down to Australia at the age of 15, to complete his studies.

He started playing rugby league for a local club in Melbourne, and eventually got selected into the Melbourne Storms development squad.

Zev plays as a prop or second row.

He says he was surprised when told about the selection into the Kumuls team and has since been welcomed into the Kumuls camp along with three other debutants from the Under 23 Residents team.

Preparation is vital for the 21-year-old as he gets ready to debut this weekend in the red, black and gold jersey.

He hopes to learm as much as possible during his time in camp with the team.

Meanhwile, PNG LNG Kumuls Coach, Michael Marum, says Zev has been training well over the past few days and is looking forward to his performance this weekend in Lae.
