The Papua New Guinea (PNG) U19 Garamuts will play the Opener match of their 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup campaign today against Zimbabwe.
Twenty years ago a PNG U19 side debuted in the World cup against Zimbabwe, where the African nation won by 147 runs.
Ten years later, Papua New Guinea bridged that gap by finishing two places ahead of Zimbabwe.
Likewise, the 2010 and 2012 editions of the tournament saw similar results, as PNG continued to stay ahead of Zimbabwe.
Tomorrow’s match is expected to see Zimbabwe once more make an effort to finish ahead of PNG.
