People in Ganglau village in the Rai Coast District in Madang Province will soon access better health facilities.
Currently a new health center is under construction at the cost of K1.8 million from the Mineral Resources Authority under the Ramu NiCo MOA commitments.
The project construction commenced last September, however transportation of building materials has been the delay faced due to unreliable sea transport between Madang and Basamuk.
Three staff houses are also under construction.
The new health facility will help both the locals and the refinery workers.
Chairman of Ganglau Health center, Sibi Dup said he is proud to have the project delivered soon so his people who have been lacking basic medical services since independence can enjoy the facilities.
He is also adamant that once the hospital is delivered, his committee plans to request the national and provincial government to facilitate a full staffing and vehicle so the health center can help people from the mountains and further down Saidor and up towards lleg in the Rai Coast district.
