Togther with economic growth comes more demand for energy. Energy will play a vital role in helping economies grow and create new opportunities.
This was made known at Day2 ofthe Petroleum seminar in Port Moresby.
The Outlook for Energy was given onthe last day ofthe Petroleum seminar.
Senior Project Manager, LNG PlantoExxonMobil Yow-Yeen Lee, who gavethe presentation, said that despitethe introduction and use of energy efficient technologies,there will still be a demand for Liqueflied Natural Gas into 2040.
The demand for energy will rise in 4 major sectors – electricity generation, industrial, transportation and residential & commercial sectors.
The biggest milestone ofthe year occurred in August withthe introduction ofthe commissioning gas intothe onshore and offshore pipeline.
Focus is now on restoration work alongthe pipeline to re-plant trees and flora inthe area.
Withthe Project’s workforce starting to decline as construction work begins to be completed,thPNG LNG Project says it has put a huge effort into preparing people for the next phase oftheir lives and careers by way of training, certifications and work experience for new employment.
