Deputy Prime Minister Leo Dion was officially welcomed by senior officials fromthe Military and Police inthe capital of New Caledonia, upon arrival yesterday.
He is representingthe Prime Minister inthe Melanesian Spearhead Group LLeadersSummit in Noumea.
Onthe agenda, focus will be given onthe membership application of West Papua tothe MSG.
They will also discussthe model law on integrity of political parties.
The Summit began withthe handing over ofthe MSG chairmanship from Fiji tothe Front de Liberation Nationale Kanak Socialite.
Mr Dion and ther government officials withnessedthe exchange between Fiji Prime Minister, Frank Beinimara and FLNKS spokesperson, Victor Tutugoro.
