Corporate Touch: Moniplus Thrash SteeI Industries

Defending touch rugby champions, Moniplus, continued on form leading into the finals of the Corporate Touch Competition, with a 10-1 demolition of Steel Industries.

Other results saw Ela Motors beat Exxon Mobil and Transport defeat JDA in a close 8-7 finish.

As defending open men’s champions, Moniplus were favourites to win and the host of current international players on their side tested their opposition.

Steel Industries, on the other hand, struggled to gain any sort of momentum forward.

Moniplus captain and current PNG captain, Eugene Eka, was in rampant form inspiring his team from the onset and, after assisting in a number of tries, scoring himself.

Moniplus took a commanding 7-0 lead into the halftime break.

The second half saw little improvement in Steel Industries' situation as Moniplus put 3 more tries to win the match 10-1.

Steel Industries were fortunate enough to score in the final minute of play, a little too late.

In the open women’s division, BSP overcame a tough Transport side; the game had gotten physical as well.

BSP, with a close game, had 4 tries to 2 which led to a defeat of their rivals.
