Rugby expert Rod Kafer has marked Wallaby Quade Cooper’s return to the Australian squad as one of the biggest gambles in the history of Australian rugby.
But with the world cup starting in September, Australian coach Michael Cheika sees it as an opportunity to test all his options ahead of the competition starting in England.
While some support his decision to name Cooper at fly half, many are sceptical.
Cheika has opted to look beyond Cooper’s struggles at Eden Park, and instead invest in a player who is capable of turning a game on its head and providing the x-factor the Aussie’s will need in order to knock over the All Blacks this Saturday night.
This weekend’s match will be extra special for the Kiwis.
A record test match for the All Blacks captain, Richie McCaw, and a game on home soil, in front of thousands of All Blacks fans who will be out on Saturday evening regardless of Auckland’s cold and wet conditions.
