The Central Power Plant Project is set to provide more economic opportunities for the people of Central Province.
This was revealed duringthe signing ofthe project in Port Moresby overthe weekend.
Duringthe signing ofthe K90 million projects, Central Governor Kila Haoda, Rigo MP Ano Pala, and members ofthe Provincial administration were given an insight ofthe project.
Presented by Clean Energy Solutions Vice President of Operations McCabe Cox, it was shown that Central Province was ideal location for the project.
To be located just outside of Port Moresby, 30 hectares of land will be used for the both power plants.
And oncethe projects begin,there will be many benefits. Duringthe construction phase and operation,the project will also ensure training and employment for the local people.
Beth power plants will be built to complement each ther. This is becausethe solar power plant only feeds on sun lightoandthere needs to be a consistent power source.
The biomass power plant wasthe next solution, which generates power from a particular species of grass.
Central Governor Kila Haoda saidthe project once completed will also bring in more investment intothe province.
He said this has been absent for many years.
