Yama: New Memorandum of Agreement is the way forward

Madang Governor Peter Yama says a new Memorandum of Agreement must be discussed for the Ramu Nickel Project. Governor Yama says regulator Mineral Resource Authority must strictly allow legal process for a new agreement between the State, Madang Provincial Government and landowners. He described the initial agreement as hopeless with no tangible benefits for all stakeholders. Yama says, the agreement has no proven benefit for resource owners, the Madang Provincial Government and local level governments.

Post Graduate students from University of Technology Graduate under New Forestry Program

Thirteen Post Graduate Students from PNG University of Technology who were engaged in a program that began almost four years ago under the Forestry Department will graduate on Friday this week. The PNG Multipurpose National Forest Inventory Program was funded by the European Union at a cost of K24 million since 2015 and will end in September this year.
