16TH SIR ANTHONY SIAGURU WALK AGAINST CORRUPTION

Transparency International Papua New Guinea (TIPNG) is mobilizing the public, private sector, and civil society groups for the 2026 Sir Anthony Siaguru Walk Against Corruption.

The 16th Sir Anthony Siaguru Walk Against Corruption (SASWAC) will eventuate on Sunday 21st of June 2026 at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.

According to TIPNG, for nearly two decades, the Walk has stood as Papua New Guinea’s most visible, safe, and powerful platform for citizens to collectively voice their opposition to corruption.

Chief Executive Officer of TIPNG, Arrianne Kassman said, “the Walk is not a protest or a rally. Rather, the SASWAC is a peaceful, structured celebration of solidarity where corporate teams, school groups, and community members bring anti-corruption advocacy to life through spirited chants, bold banners, and creative uniforms.”

TIPNG organizes this flagship event with three clear operational objectives:

• To raise vital funds to support TIPNG’s operational reach and protect its financial independence.

• To deepen citizens’ awareness of corruption and how to minimize corrupt practices in daily life.

• To provide a safe, peaceful platform where the public can stand together to demand national transparency.

This year’s Walk will be led by Secretary for Department of Information and Communications Technology, Steven Matainaho representing the Government Sector, CEO for CreditBank PNG, Danny Robinson, represents the Private Sector and Jacqui Joseph CEO of Equal Playing Field will stand for Civil Society members.

Highlighting the focus of this year’s event, Ms. Kassman noted, “this year’s theme, ‘Integrity & Action Now!’, is a direct, urgent call for every individual, business, and public official to move past words and use active integrity as a driving force to transform Papua New Guinea.”

This year’s event is set to see a massive turnout, with over 160 teams already confirmed, representing corporates and government departments, schools, SMEs, Civil Society teams, and family teams.
