Buvusi Youths in WNB Surrender Weapons

The illegal weapons surrendered include home-made guns, knives and hoods.

Notorious youths in Buvusi, West New Britain, surrendered weapons used in crimes committed along the Kimbe-Bialla highway.

Spokesman, Kalistus Amon, apologised to the community, saying the youths now want to take a new path and support services.

The ceremony was witnessed by West New Britain Governor, Sasindran Muthuvel, PEC members and Mosa President Dacca Wagai.

The Governor has committed financial assistance to the group for poultry projects.

The Governor said as some of them were students, the Provincial Government would give special consideration in assisting them with school fee subsidy.

He said by changing their mindset they can change the destiny of their lives. Mr. Muthuvel, President;s Wagai and Kurgi, touched by the gesture of the youths urged them to contribute to the positive development of the Province.

The Buvusi Community, including Pastors and leaders from different churches, women and children turned up to witness the program.

The pastors said it was in God’s timing for the surrender to take place as mothers had been praying for a long time to see this change taking place.
