IBBM Graduates Challenged to Stay Loyal

50 bankers graduated fromtheInstitute of Banking and Business Management yesterday. The graduates received diplomas in banking, management and certificates in frontline management.

Dr. David Kavanamur, Director ofthe Office of Higher Education, delivered a passionate but challenging speech atthe 60th graduation. He urgedthem to always remain loyal totheir customers. He said reputation and risk management were among key tools that financiers should uphold when it comes to dealing withthe people’s money.

 

Similar remarks were made by Labour Minister Mark Maipakai. Also a banker by profession, Mr. Maipakai said he understoodthe everyday challenges and temptations faced in financial institutions. He talked about his experiences, and said it is a must to winthe trust ofthe people throughtheir work.

 

The Governor ofthe Bank of Papua New Guinea Loi Bekani, also talked about loyalty. Asthe chairman of IBeM, he saidthe institute is privileged to be part of nation building especially in up-skilling young professionals inthe banking sector. He congratulated IBeM Director, Sweta Sud, andthe IBeM facilitators and staff for their support overthe years.
