Anjo calls on leaders to build strong Opposition bench

By Jack Lapauve Jr โ€“ EM TV, Port Moresby

Public Activist Noel Anjo called on the opposition to unite and play a vital role in the governing of the country.

The activist wants to see Mr Polye and Mr Namah share equal respect, and build a strong opposition bench.

Anjo says, a divided opposition will see the government rule leaving the people to be denied essential services and their democracy. โ€œThe opposition has to rule has one body to keep the national government accountable for their decisions and actionsโ€, Anjo said.

Mr Anjo acknowledged the fact that Mr Polyeโ€™s Triumph Heritage Empowerment (T.H.E) Party has numbers, but the process of throwing out long-time Opposition leader Belden Namah didnโ€™t go down well with himโ€, he expressed.

He called on Mr Polye and Mr Namah to address the media or public and announce that the change in leadership is not a contradicting move but a consolidated effort.

โ€œNo man is an island, both leaders need each other’s assistance to drive forward the plans of the oppositionโ€, said Anjo.
