Lae Secondary Principal, Christopher Raymond has apologized to the Lae Community for the actions of students on Friday.
His show of remorse comes after students stoned a PMV bus and injured women and children on board.
Raymond says what happened was unfortunate and the students have been spoken to.
The PMV bus was stoned by Lae Secondary school students on Friday, after they suspected that it was carrying Bumayong students, injuring about 20 passengers when the bus was moving through LFA.
Today, the school Principal, Christopher Raymond, apologized for the actions of his students. “It was unfortunate and for that I am sorry,” he says.
Women, children and this elderly man, old enough to be the grandfather of the students, were stoned and injured.
The bus and its crew took the matter to the police and students were later arrested.
According to Principal Raymond, students were threatened for a week, before a mobilized group from Bumayong Secondary attacked on Friday.
It’s understood that the incident happened after Lae Secondary students received threats from the other school for several weeks.
But the outburst by the students has soiled the school’s reputation, and forced wide condemnation in the Lae Community.
