Trans Wonderland Limited Announces Net-Profit For 2014

by Meriba Tulo – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Trans Wonderland Limited, owned by 26 landowner companies in the Southern Highlands and Hela provinces, declared a net-profit for the year 2014.

The positive results come despite a slowdown in activity following the end of the construction phase of the PNG LNG Project – the project responsible for much of the company’s growth.

Trans Wonderland Managing Director, Larry Andagali, when announcing the company’s results thanked the shareholders for their continued support.

“2014 saw the company post a net-profit-after-tax of K28 million. In light of this the board has approved a dividend payment of K2 Million for its shareholders,” he said.

According to Andagali, these results reinforce the financial strength of Trans Wonderland.

“Since 2009, the company has paid dividends totaling over K10 million to its 26 shareholders – landowner companies within Southern Highlands and Hela provinces,” said Andagali.

Despite a slight decrease in its trucking and freight activities following the completion of the PNGLNG Project construction phase, the company remains optimistic it can continue providing positive results for its shareholders, by diversifying its business activities.
