Knowledge of parliamentary procedures has been acknowledged as a crucial factor in ensuring the success of Bougainville’s House of Representatives.
Speaker of Bougainville’s House of Representatives, Simon Pentanu, made these remarks during a recent induction workshop for all members of Bougainville’s Parliament.
Facilitated by the United Nations, the workshop provided an opportunity for the Autonomous Region’s elected representatives to learn processes involved in developing legislation, as well as the roles of various parliamentary committees.
