GOROSAHU REBUTS SIA’S CLAIMS

Eastern Highlands Governor Simon Sia and Daulo MP Ekime Gorosahu are at odds over K4 million set aside for road projects in Daulo District.
During the recent launch of the Ifiufa Asaroka road sealing project Governor Sia questioned how the funds were spent. He claimed that K3 million for the Fruit Gate Nomba road and K1 million for the Samatoka road lacked proper acquittals, stressing that accountability and transparency were vital when using public money.
In response Daulo MP Gorosahu rejected the claims, insisting the funds had been used as intended.
Gorosahu said the 8km Meriaka–Nomba road, including a 2km extension to Asaro Station, was completed by Gatai Development Services for K3 million, while the 4km Kominive–Samatoka road was finished by Fabar Construction for K1 million.
MP Gorosahu affirmed that acquittals were ready and would be handed to the provincial government.
Daulo District Projects Manager Ronold Koniparo confirmed hosting project officers from Governor Sia’s office who were physically on the ground at the respective project sites verifying the expenditures of the K4m.
