SEALING OF RURAL ROAD PROJECT IN WABAG DISTRICT BEGINS

The Wabag District Development Authority is planing to seal its rural road networks throughout the district with the Birip-Aiyale Valley road the first on the list.
Wabag Open member Dr Lino Tom expressed satisfaction saying that it is taking a bit of time but significant progress has been made.
Dr. Tom said Wabag District Development Authority (WDDA) is sealing this important road and further improvement will also be done to other roads.
“Line drainage and sub-base with drainage work is being done. The new bridge will commence once the contract is signed,” Dr. Lino said.
He highlighted that up to 20 rural roads built by WDDA will be upgraded and sealed in time as good roads and infrastructures are the key to economic empowerment and development.
“It’s our duty to make sure we build the foundation for sustainable development and growth and that’s what we are slowly doing. Surely, we will get there one day,” Dr Lino said.
The Birip-Aiyale Valley Road is now serving more than 10,000 people of the Aiyale Valley where coffee is predominantly grown making it accessible for coffee farmers to cash in their dried coffee beans.
