St. John's Hospital: 2 Origin Night Casualties

Origin-related casualties are now becoming a regular occurrence at clinics and hospitals around the country.

In the Nationโ€™s Capital, St Johnโ€™s Hospital in Gerehu reported 2 casualties in the morning after Origin game 2.

An argument, involving a man believed to be from the Highlands region, occurred after the origin match.

The manโ€™s argument led to a physical confrontation which eventually attracted bystanders and opportunists to take matters into their own hands, leaving the man with severe wounds.

The second attack involved a young man in his early 20โ€™s from Gerehu, who was on his way home after the Origin match when he was attacked by thieves.

ย 

His resistance to the encounter left him with a knife wound to his chest.

ย 

He has been referred to the Port Moresby General Hospital to stabilize his condition and further treatment.
