A total of seven MPs in the National Alliance have been served election petitions, with Maprik MP, John Simon, the latest to be served this afternoon.
The Party’s legal counsel Sir Arnold Amet said they have welcomed the petitions and will file 11 petitions against other elected MPs.
The seven MPs include party leader, Patrick Pruaitch, Walter Schnaubelt, Ian Ling Stuckey, Salio Waipo, John Simon, Joe Sungi and Robert Naguri.
Party Leader Pruaitch while welcoming the petitions also highlighted the negative impacts of election petitions.
“Due to this, MPs are stuck in the court process and they will not be in their districts working,” Pruaitch said.
He added the party will defend its petitioned MPs and he is confident the process will take place without any interference.
