Both Port Moresby franchise seasons ended over the weekend with both the Vipers and Gulf Isapeas equally struggling in the 2014 and 2015 season.
In the hope of reviving their poor performance in 2014, the Vipers and Isapeas retained the majority of their line-up heading into this season.
However, the challenges of a change in management and coaching staff, and no home ground became a factor for both clubs.
A shuffle in management saw the return of William Bussill Jr mid-way through the season.
While he revived much needed stability in the club, his input was not sufficient to push the Vipers though.
The Isapeas encountered a similar fate, bringing on board veteran Coach Ted Vere to guide the team and at times showed a glimpse of hope, turning ball possession to points.
Without a proper venue for a home ground, both teams had to adjust to playing all of the 2014 and majority of this year’s season away.
However, respective franchises have equally fallen under performed, sweating out weekly routines of basic ball handling and possession.
