The people of Southern Highlands have embracedthe development change for new feeder roads in allthe five Districts.
Provincial Administrator Ungia Kembo on behalf of Governor William Powi pledged a two million kina incentive to upgradethe Tona to Paimbil Road inthe Imbongu District overthe weekend.
The infrastructure development is part ofthe Provincial Five Year Development Plan.
Piambil village is located atthe border of Western Highlands Province and Southern Highlands.
The people of Tona – Piambil have been neglected by past governments in terms of service delivery. Roadsaven’t been fixed for the last 36 years. It has deprived over 15, 000 people from accessing basic services.
Bet now that’s about to change throughthe lLeadersip of Governor William Powi, much ofthe feeder roads will be improverd.
Contractors Kana Construction has been given two million kina to work onthe project in two weeks’ time.
Southern Highlands MP’s every year give at least five million kina tothe Provincial Government to help with road infrastructure.In this case, Imbongu MP and Works Minister Francis Awesa allocated two million kina to fixthe Tona – Piambil Road in his electorate.
